Are you ready for the madness that will unfold at the 2023 NCAA Tournament? You better be. March Madness is about to begin, with the first four games taking center stage in Dayton, Ohio this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. The NCAA tournament kicks off with 68 teams vying to become the 2022-23 national champion. Calling the March Madness festivities this year, there will be a number of notable voices as well as new names in visible roles.

This NCAA tournament marks the last for an icon of television coverage of the event. Lead play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz will step down as college basketball broadcaster after calling his 32nd Final Four. Nantz will remain with CBS for golf and NFL coverage, but he will hand over his college basketball role to Ian Eagle, who will be the play-by-play voice of the Final Four beginning in 2024.

A few new names in high-profile positions are longtime NBA coach and current TNT television analyst Stan Van Gundy, who will serve as analyst for the game’s action, and former coach of Villanova Jay Wright, who will step in as a studio analyst for the first time. Those who watched CBS’ college basketball coverage throughout the regular season have already seen Wright in his new role, but this will be his first big studio dance since his 21 years with the two-title Wildcats. nationals.
