Austin Butler and Vanessa Hudgens have an awkward break-in after Oscars party

Vanessa Hudgens savagely dodged ex-boyfriend Austin Butler on Sunday night after the 2023 Oscars.

The actress was filmed staring at her phone – apparently in an effort to avoid eye contact with her ex – as she walked past Butler at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party.

At the time, Butler stood next to Sharon Stone while waiting for a car outside the posh event in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The ‘Elvis’ star appeared to glance in Hudgens’ direction as she rushed past him and walked away without making a conversation.

It’s unclear whether the couple, who dated for nearly nine years from 2011 to 2020, have spoken within the party. Photos reveal Butler attended the party with his new girlfriend, Kaia Gerber.

Earlier in the night, Butler, 31, was trolled by online trolls for continuing to speak in his now famous “Elvis” accent, which could be heard during red carpet interviews. Interestingly enough, it was Hudgens, 34, who originally told Butler he should play Elvis Presley one day – before landing the coveted gig in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biographical drama.

“When does Austin Butler lose his accent? Or is it part of his DNA now? one Oscars viewer asked on social media, while another wrote, “Austin Butler still has a hint of that accent and I’ll shove it in a locker.”

Butler also received a Best Actor nomination for his portrayal of the “Jailhouse Rock” singer. However, the accolade ultimately went to Brendan Fraser for playing Charlie, a 600-pound English teacher, in “The Whale.”

Butler’s years-long journey to confront Presley’s life on the big screen began during his relationship with Hudgens. He acknowledged his support during a January interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“We were together for so long and she had this kind of insightful moment, and so I really — I owe her a lot for believing in me,” he said.

The ‘Princess Switch’ star first recalled the “clairvoyant” moment during a 2019 appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”

“Last December we were driving and listening to Christmas music, and then an Elvis Presley Christmas song came along,” she recalled in 2019.

“He had just dyed his hair black. He’s a natural blonde, and I was looking at him and he was singing and I was like, ‘Baby, you gotta play Elvis.’ »

Butler and Hudgens were first linked at mutual friend Ashley Tisdale’s sister’s birthday party in 2011 and dated until January 2020.

Hudgens, for her part, has been in love with MLB star Cole Tucker since 2020, and the couple got engaged last month.

Butler has been dating the supermodel’s daughter Cindy Crawford since December 2021.
