Might as well call her Jo Frost.
Brenna, a part-time nanny in Utah, took to TikTok last week to share five things she would never do at work after working in the profession for five years.
Her video has already reached 38,100 views on the social media app.
Kicking off the 48-second clip, Brenna revealed her first rule is that she’s not the housekeeper – she’s the nanny.
“I’ll only clean up after the kids and I, unload the dishes, do the kids’ laundry and pick up right after us,” she explained.
However, she admitted that if she was babysitting things were a bit different and she would make a few exceptions.
The second requirement on her list is that she will not work for a family that does not allow her to take the children out of the house, as she has shown clips of herself taking children to places like Starbucks and Chick -wire-A.
Brenna said, “I personally don’t know how to entertain your kids at home for 10 hours, and the kids and I are going to lose our minds.”
She added: “I’ve tried it before with previous families and it just didn’t work for me, and I ended up giving up.”
Another rule Brenna abides by is that she won’t accept being paid late and admitted that it’s something that has happened to her often in the past. She also claimed that she will not lower her rates to “address” a family’s needs.
“I will find someone who will pay me what I deserve,” she said in the video. “I will not watch any additional children, including your friends or your family’s children, unless you want to pay me a lot more.”
The fifth and final thing Brenna won’t do is work outside of her working hours.
“It’s my free time, bye,” she said as she ended the video.
The Post has reached out to the nanny for comment.
In the comments section of her TikTok video, many users praised her for setting boundaries at work and admitted they could understand her struggles as a nanny.
“I kept a baby boy in a 2 bedroom apartment and was not allowed to leave the property, almost lost my mind so this rule is good,” one user wrote.
Another person agreed, sharing a similar story.
“It was quiet validation,” they claimed. “I am the nanny of a child of almost 2 years old and I work 12 hour shifts. Not allowed to take her anywhere and I’m so bored. We can play in the garden but that’s it.
“My hardest boundary was reminding parents that I’m a nanny and not a therapist. That I’m here to take care of the kids not them. 😤,” another admitted.
However, a few users seemed to disagree with what she shared in the video.
“I would watch extra kids just because they are having fun,” one person wrote.
Another agreed: ‘I wouldn’t hire someone with your attitude. if you live, you must treat the house as your own, that is, clean up after yourself.
