TI has hit back at Boosie Badazz for canceling their joint album and calling it a “rat” after footage resurfaced of the “Why U Wanna” rapper admitting to pinning a gun on his deceased cousin.
TI and Boosie had been working on a joint album since 2021, but Boosie ended the project earlier this week after learning of TI’s admission.
“With TI’s situation, if he did that, you’re a fucking rat too,” Boosie said during a recent appearance on VladTV. “I spare no fucking body. Because if you’re doing something wrong, you’re doing something criminal and you’re cooperating with law enforcement to get you out of trouble, that means you’re cooperating It means you’re a rat.”
On Tuesday, TI responded to Boosie’s comments in a lengthy Instagram post, in which he offered to provide the documents to prove he hadn’t been rampaging.
“I HAVE MY PAPERWORK ready to be shown!!!” he wrote alongside footage of Boosie’s interview with VladTV. “PULLUP!!! My number is the same and my address is the same.
TI added that he “didn’t care” what Boosie thought of him.
“Going online and talking about things you never told me about is letting me think you’ve been hiding your heart the whole time!!!!” he said. “I would NEVER talk about ‘some disrespect’ on your name/reputation about an ‘IF’ homie…convict code says When in doubt…get the paperwork out!!!”
TI’s comments about pinning a gun charge on his cousin came during a 2020 episode of his “quickly” podcast titled “Sleep Is for the Rich.”
The Atlanta-born rapper recalled that in 2000, he and his cousin, Toot, were arrested by police after they were caught unloading a truckload of stolen clothing in a nearby parking lot.
TI was armed with a firearm when they were arrested. During the trial, Toot was murdered, TI said, giving him the opportunity to escape charges.
“We caught these gun cases, Toot is dead. My lawyer said, ‘Well, you know, I could make it all go away if it was Toot, it was Tremel,'” a- he declared.
T.I. claimed to have spoken to his cousin from beyond the grave, and Toot granted him permission to pin the charges against him.
“After he passed, I had a conversation with him,” TI said. “Toot said, ‘I’m gonna take all the charges you got! If you can go free and put it on me, fuck it! ‘Cause I’ll be damned if they come and extradite me from here! ‘”
