Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) takes over ‘Sin City’ through mixed martial arts (MMA) event UFC Las Vegas, which is taking place THIS EVENING (Saturday, March 11, 2023) on ESPN+ from inside the theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC Las Vegas will be headlined by former 135-pound champion Petr Yan, who collides with No. 3-ranked Merab Dvalishvili in five rounds of bantamweight action. The UFC Las Vegas co-main event will feature a top 15 heavyweight battle pitting No. 8-ranked Alexander Volkov against No. 14-ranked Alexandr Romanov. Elsewhere on the card, Ryan Spann and Nikita Krylov pick up where they left off at UFC Vegas 70 after “The Miner” was scratched late due to illness.

Lipski punches, lands on his knees and splits. Quick headbutt. More knees from Lipski in the clinch. One more minute. Aldrich shoots again, eats more knees for his problem. Straight left. Lipksi follows a knee from a straight right that hurts Aldrich, then chases her to the bell. 10-9 Lipsky.
Round 2: Sharp 3-2 from Aldrich, who eats a straight right in return. Squall Lipski lasts. One minute. Lipski to the body. Aldrich 1-2 and a low kick. Lipski narrowly misses with a head kick, then catches Aldrich with a combo two minutes later. Quick exchange. Aldrich fakes a level change, dodges a front kick, lands a jab. Low kick from Lipski met by a right hand. Two more minutes.
Heavy exchange in the center. Aldrich fires again, but just can’t finish it. Lipski to the body. Body shot. One more minute. Both right hands land. Exchange. Aldrich shoots, refuses, eats the knees. 10-9 Lipsky.

Round 1: Low kick from Silva to start. Nam advancing slowly. Low kick from Silva, blocks the right counter. Front kick down low met by a Nam 1-2. 2-3 from Silva by the minute. Low blow to unsuccessful level change. Clean up the fist that spins back which Nam eats with no problem. Silva lands a kick to the body as he spins and Nam again tries to come back with a straight right. Two minutes. Exchange of low blows. Silva shoots well as he spins and Nam waits for his opportunities. Silva fires, denied. Two more minutes.
Counter heavy straight from Nam after dodging a back punch. Nam keeps trying to bring him down as a 2-1 bounces off him. Shift reversed by Silva, false level change to the left hook. One more minute. Nam with a right down; he finds more success as the round progresses. Fist back by Silva. Kick from Silva, Nam counters on the right. Nam rushes at him and lands a solid body kick, then a low right. 10-9 Nam on subsequent work.
Round 2: Nam staying on the front foot, pumping the jab. Silva punishes his aggression with a front kick to the jaw that sends Nam teetering to the mat. He somehow manages to survive and close his guard. A minute later, Nam tries to explode to his feet and Silva immediately wraps the RNC, slipping his hooks and choking Nam unconscious within seconds.
Final result: Silva defeats. Nam by technical submission (bare rear choke)
170 pounds: Carlston Harris vs. Jared Gooden
Round 1: Gooden with his hands low as usual. Body kick and low kick. Hard low kick that Harris can’t quite counter. Trade in the center. Harris punches the arm and unsuccessfully tries to tie up a minute. Right and overhand left hook from Harris, who absorbs another low kick. Gooden holds the jab, eats one back. Low blow exchange. Gooden to the body two minutes later. The heavy blow results in Gooden pawing his nose and Harris stalking him. Gooden’s fast counters. Counter left, eat chipping right. More aggressiveness from Harris. Hard flurry that Gooden absorbs with two minutes to go.
Harris shoots, can’t finish, lands a knee on the exit. They trade lefts. Gooden bursts, cutting right past Harris in return. Some fun back and forth exchanges. Gooden continuing to dig down to the lower right. One more minute. Gooden lands jabs, eats a two-piece counter. Wicked elbow from Harris, the jab comes back to him. Exchange hands in descending seconds. Big elbows by Harris after bullying Gooden at the fence. 10-9 Harris.
Round 2: Early level change from Harris, which puts Gooden on the fence. Trading short punches inside. A minute later. A better level change this time and he throws Gooden to the mat, taking half guard. Short punches from above. Now a few elbows to two minutes. Consider an arm triangle with two minutes to go.
Harris always moves away from half guard. Gooden tries to turn into him and Harris grabs the front lead with a minute to go. Go back to side control, then go up to the level of the bell. 10-9 Harris.
Round 3: Harris shoots, can’t get it, grabs the front lead instead. Looking back, a hook. He spins in a mount for a minute with a potential arm triangle. Gooden pokes his head out, still stuck in the mount eating elbows. Gooden breaks free and gets up, where Harris switches levels again two minutes later. Another successful takedown puts Gooden in his seat. Gooden catches up, only to eat a huge left hook and get taken down again with two minutes to go.
Harris walks away looking for the back. Gooden explodes again, avoiding an anaconda choke, but Harris hangs on again and drags him down with a minute to go. Lateral control for “Mocambique”, landing elbows. Return to half-guard in front of the bell. 10-9 Harris.
Final result: Harris defeated. Gooden by unanimous decision
